Immunologist Thon: "Talking about a collective immunity was not a mistake. It is one of the pillars that will help stopping the pandemic."

"It is possible that we currently have many more people in the population who have encountered coronavirus. We just don't know about that yet," admits immunologist Vojtěch Thon from the RECETOX research center at the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University in the Czech Radio Plus Special. "We are testing how our modification of nanofibre filters will withstand industrial use," says David Pavliňák

Our experts have devised a technique that facilitates the production of nanofibre mask filters. Now, with the help of a grant from the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TAČR), they are verifying how the plasma-treated surface of the filter handles temperature fluctuations, storage and other "pitfalls" of commercial production.
