The Faculty of Science had the honour of welcoming two important visitors to its premises, the Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to the Czech Republic, Mr. Patricio Utreras, and the Chilean Consul, Mr. Carlos Gajardo.
On behalf of the MU Faculty of Science, the Chilean delegation was welcomed by the Dean doc. Tomáš Kašparovský, the Director of the Faculty’s Institute of Geography, Masaryk University doc. Petr Kubíček and the head of the Czech Antarctic Research Program, doc. Dan Nývlt. Topics covered in the meeting included scientific and logistical cooperation between Chile and the Czech Republic in Antarctica and memories of last year's joint photographic exhibition organized by the Czech Antarctic Foundation, along with the possibilities of mutual student and academic exchanges.
We would like to thank the Ambassador for a pleasant and inspiring visit and look forward to further cooperation with both the Chilean Embassy and our scientific colleagues overseas!
