PhD thesis of Mgr. Pavlína Janovská, Ph.D. was ranked among the 13 most successful dissertations in the Werner von Siemens 2019 competition!
This year, 645 applications for diploma and doctoral theses entered the competition, so Pavlina’s placement is a truly great success and confirms the high quality of her work!
Pavlína succeeded with her work “The Role of Migration in the Pathogenesis of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia“. Now as a postdoc at OFIZ, Pavlina continues with the topic of chronic lymphocytic leukemia and is focused on casein kinase 1 as a therapeutic target in the treatment of this disease.

The Czech national team achieved an extraordinary triumph at the International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO 2025), a prestigious competition for high school students from around the world. The event, held in Jining, China, from August 7 to 17, 2025, tested both theoretical knowledge and practical skills across disciplines such as geology, hydrology, climatology, astronomy, and environmental science. In addition, the competition evaluated research capabilities and teamwork.
